Patch Together

Okay, so someone posted this crazy looking sleeping bag on Facebook that looks quite literally like a big plush shark with you inside its mouth. Apparently this was designed by someone out in imagination land, sewn together, and stuffed. Here is the deal though, while it is an amazing idea the folks at Patch Together have the means of production. They will take your hairbrained ideas and one-shot designs and mass produce them in China. All you need is a 2D or 3D image and these cats will make you action figures. No kidding, like I have my very own line of heroes I invented as toys. Seriously you gotta be kidding me. I can have:

NOFRIENDS Tour 2012

New Next Playtest

Okay, first my nerdrage gripes: Magic Missile doesn't scale! Racial weapon damage increases Fighter style specialization Some specialties are sad Basically I just don't understand the non-scaleability of magic missile. It tosses the wizard class back into the realm of being higher level and dependent on scrolls, wands, and other weapons to have an at-will attack that is on par with other classes. Now this is fine in the long run because I could use the same arguments I defended the D&D Next fighter class from the last playtest document. Maybe since the wizard can do lots of other things he should not be effective every round. His low hit points and AC aside, I know in my games my DM is not going to let him last long with just a 1d4+1 dmg attack, so life can go on. The racial damage increases and fighter style specializations are one of those things that just inherently bothers me. Now I can't play an elf with a spear, or at least an elf with a spear won't be

D&D Next, Mechwarrior, OCC Season 15, Dungeonbowl, and new 40K

I am patiently awaiting the arrival of the next play test for D&D Next. I rue calling it 5th Edition because it really isn't. It is definitely not another rehashing of 4e and more than that version was a continuation of 3.5. They have announced it should be released by GenCon, so we got about a week or so to wait. It has been a long time since my group gathered for a session- so I have been investing time in other things. I did play the original tabletop Battletech all those years ago a few times, but the Mechwarrior re-launch is my first stab at any of the PC games. If you want to check it out, I will supply a link . I have enjoyed it. It is free to play and a nice variation of the other shooters. Maps load quick, the rules are complicated and not quite transparent- but c'mon giant robots. Awesome. I am signed up again for Orca Cola Championship using Cyanide's Bloodbowl game. I only finished 5th in my tier last season, so back with a vengeance. Moved into

Dungeonbowl Hits Steam

Okay content pack with two teams aside. Now you can purchase the basic game using Steam. The original download wasn't that expensive. Add in the fact that we now have orcs and goblins, chaos, and more teams coming this game is still pretty fun. It is hard to find a match once and a while, but with additional content- maybe it won't stay this way forever.
