GMT

ROFL, love the kindness of others sometimes. But I realize just how not international we are. I had a match scheduled this week in the Orca Cola Championship League. Now don't get me wrong. I understand the the concept of time zones. But as an American, things like converting to GMT should be waaaayy more familiar to us. I missed my match this week- partly because my life can be chaotic and my memory isn't so sharp- but also because when someone says 17:00 GMT it throws me for a loop. I have visited this website more in the last week than probably anyone within 50 miles: GMT

BASH Season

Well, seems like the only game I am playing these days in Bloodbowl. My brother's work schedule has really delayed our ability to continue the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game by Margret Weis. We haven't touched the D&D Next Playtest materials. I haven't played a tabletop game of Warhammer, 40k, Battletech, or any of the miniature types games in over a year. Even my MMORPG excursions have been kinda stalled waiting for SWTOR to complete some kind of server merges. That being said, I absolutely- positively- kicked ass in our local Blood Bowl Online League. Finished this season in BASH with a 7-0 record. Next stop the championship. Hope Don isn't opposed to actually making another trophy. I really like the one I have in my game room from the Spring 2010 BASH Championship. Orca-Cola Championships

So the Greymoor Sneaks have entered the largest Bloodbowl league in the world. Starting out in 14th Season of the League in Tier 6- Division A. We are off to a glorious start with my two gutter runners leveling in the first match. A 3-2 win over some nasty elfthings. Wish me luck.

No Playtest- But the Sun Still Shines

Our D&D Next Playtest was cancelled today. Something came up for my older brother, so we weren't able to get our game in. I had decided to try out the cleric. The human cleric of Pelor included in the materials reminds me a little of something else. In many ways he resembles characters from other editions. For his casting abilities he doesn't memorize his spells the way vanacian clerics do. Instead he has a pool of three spells which he can cast two in a given setting. Knowing the game as well as I do, it seems you still might want to hang on to these daily abilities for the recovery generated by cure light wounds. It is still a touch range spell and cures 1d8 hit points plus your magical ability modifier. The cleric has a +4 Wisdom bonus (5-12pts). His other two first level spells include Searing Light (+6 ranged attack, 4d6+4 dmg) and Spiritual Hammer. To me, it is the second ability that seems awesome if I was going to drop one in combat. Pawn's Folly

Dungeonbowl has been great. First team I decided to roll was a Rainbow Wizards team. Most of the perpetual league systems in Bloodbowl favor bashing teams, it is just that way. Finesse teams discover that after a while the stronger, in-your-face style teams can almost always win a 2-1 game (especially in a matchmaking situation where TV is equal). What happens then is instead of replacing half your team from injuries after each match, the finesse teams just re-roll bash. That being said, I am addicted to 4 AG. After becoming somewhat successful with skaven, I figured I'd start Dungeonbowl with some elf players. After the first day, I've played nine matches. I am 4-5 currently, but two games were actually disconnects where I lost connection with the server so I am really looking at four wins, three losses. Here's the thing though, it is not even about winning and losing. One of the most annoying things for me in Bloodbowl has been the stalling tactics. We kno
